The opening day of this year’s Beach Polo Cup Dubai 2016 proved to be a big success, with large crowds watching the world’s best polo ponies and players at the stunning purpose-built venue at Skydive Dubai.
Due to unexpected rain in the UAE on Friday, the event had to be delayed by 24 hours as groundstaff worked around-the-clock to get the sand surface ready for action.
In the first match on Saturday evening, Cadillac narrowly edged out Qatar Airways 8.5 to 8 while Lindt claimed victory over Hills Advertising, 11-7.
The Beach Polo Cup Dubai is now set for finals day on Sunday under the backdrop of the iconic Dubai Marina skyline.
