Pep Guardiola has put Manchester City’s win over Leicester City down to the self-belief in the players after his side rallied from a goal gown to attain a 3-1 victory.
The defending champions trailed 0-1 after Jamie Vardy put the Foxes ahead at the Etihad stadium before claiming the first-half lead through a Riyad Mahrez goal and an Ilkay Gundogan penalty.
A second-half strike from Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus sealed all three points for Guardiola’s men, who have now won four matches on the bounce.
It ended Leicester’s nine-match unbeaten run and took City within a point of Brendon Rodgers’ men in third place. The reigning champions still trail Liverpool by 11 points with the Red having a game in hand owing to their Club World Cup commitments.
