In addition to this incredible feat, CrossFit Yas placed second in the team’s category in the Open.
If you’re a CrossFitter and followed or participated in the Open, you know how impressive this is. If you’re not familiar with any of this, a brief overview: The CrossFit Games is a global CrosssFit competition with three stages; stage one is the CrossFit Open where people compete from anywhere in the world and try to qualify for a spot at one of the eight CrossFit Regionals. From here only the top 40 males, females, and teams will earn the right to participate in the major event known as the CrossFit Games which takes place in the US.
CrossFit Yas are no strangers to fitness competitions.
In 2015 Jamie Greene did extremely well in the Dubai Fitness Competition and finished as the highest ranked UAE-based athlete with a 4th overall. The top three spots all went to international CrossFit athletes. And in last year’s CrossFit Games, team CrossFit Yas gave an impressive performance at the Regionals stage.
