Gameweek 4 approaches in Fantasy Premier League and several key assets are yet to hit their stride.

Everyone wants to own the big-hitters but sometimes in FPL settling for second best is the right play.

Here are some cheaper team-mates of those big guns to consider…

    ANDY ROBERTSON

    Robertson FPL

Trent Alexander-Arnold is the popular choice in Liverpool’s defence with nearly 30 per cent more ownership than Andy Robertson. However, it’s the Scot with the greater points tally so far [20 to 15].

Robertson’s underlying stats are impressive as he appears to be the more advanced attacking full-back and he’s crossing 11 times per game. He’s returned in every match so far with a goal, a clean sheet and an assist. At 0.5m cheaper, it’s worth pivoting to Liverpool’s left-back.

    ANDROS TOWNSEND

    Townsend FPL

Think Crystal Palace and think Wilfried Zaha but at 1.2m cheaper and an ownership of just over three per cent, Andros Townsend deserves our attention. Only Harry Kane [5] has created more big chances than the Palace winger [3] in the league so far.

He’s only two points behind Zaha [22 to 24] and has produced attacking returns in every GW so far with a goal and two assists.

    ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE

    Lacazette FPL

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a great pick and will undoubtedly score more points than any other Arsenal player this season. But if you’d rather invest in one of the many other midfield options while retaining a share in the Gunners’ attack, Alexandre Lacazette could be the man for you.

He’s 3.4m cheaper and owned by just over five per cent of managers. He’s bagged a goal in each of the three GWs so far and really should’ve had a second against Liverpool.
