UAE No1 cyclist Yousif Mirza was involved in a motorcycle accident Sunday night in Jumeirah, a day after he helped Al Nasr clinch gold in the President's Cup.
Mirza, 26, is in Rashid Hospital in Dubai, after suffering broken bones in his legs and shoulder. The UAE national champion underwent two successful surgeries on Monday and will have a third on Tuesday, according to the Facebook page of the UAE Cycling Federation coach Abdulla Suwaidan.
The Emirati, who is ranked No6 in the UCI Asia Tour rankings, has qualified to this year's World Road Cycling Championships as well as next year's Rio Olympics.
