  • O'Keefe's brilliance has put Australia in the driver's sear.

A brilliant bowling display from Australia’s Steve O’Keefe saw India bowled out for 105 in their first innings of the first Test at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, catching the attention of the cricketing world.

O’Keefe picked career-best bowling figures of 6-35 as India lost seven wickets for 11 runs, their worst seven-wicket batting collapse ever in Test cricket.

Australia was 143-4 in their second innings at stumps on day two, with a lead of 298 as captain Steve Smith lived a charmed life before bringing up his 21st Test half-century.

As expected, the Indian collapse was met with surprise across the globe, with former Australia fast Mitchell Johnson simply tweeting ‘Wow’ to sum up the shock of he home side’s collapse.

Shane Warne and Michael Clarke, who are commentating on the match, also took to Twitter to applaud the efforts of O’Keefe.
